Automatic Table & Fireball Lighters

return to Chase index

The Chase Automatic Table Lighter and Fireball use a semi-automatic firing mechanism, originally designed for Alfred Vester & Sons by John W. Schulze in 1928. According to the "Chase Complete" book, the cylindrical Automatic Table Lighter was introduced in 1933 and the bulbous Fireball in 1936. Both models were produced until 1941 when the U.S. entered World War 2. They were offered with chrome finish, several enameled colorways and as part of select Chase smoking sets. (EB)
