Saacke-Schmidt & Co. manufactured Netop pocket lighters from the end of the 1920s into the mid-1930s. The name Netop is derived from the Algonquian language Narragansett, a Native American tribe indigenous to western Rhode Island. These pocket lighters were produced in at least three sizes and offered with a variety of leather, engine turned, and enamel finishes. (EB)
